After the Snow

By the time I made it into the woods, the temperature had risen and the snow was melting off the trees.  Oh well, there is always Saturday as there is another, bigger storm forecasted.

This male Cardinal seemed a little bashful to come too close.  As it turned out, its mate, was even more reluctant and stayed in the thicket.  I must say that the birds have been acting oddly lately.  I did have another pair who were willing to pose, but with the added pressure of so many young families about (the little ones tend to scare away the cardinals!), I was not paying attention to my camera settings and did not adjust accordingly.  Drat...

Wow...only two more days left in this year...
