Catching some rays

Found this little fella sunning himself on a bike rack.
I'd driven about 15 miles to find a country park by a lake with the optimistic hope of getting some shots of an alligator - sadly the park I found was very posh with no entry 'buffer zones' to keep people from the lake edge.

This lizard was the closest I could therefore get to an alligator.
Bit pathetic I know, he was only about 4" long, rather than the 4' - 6' that I had been hoping for!
