Drips

Heavy rain last night left just a few shallow puddles on the trial. Well, until just about the end when I came around a corner and saw a mud slick about 20 feet wide in front of me. Just past that, I saw the rider who had recently past me on the other side of said mud slick so I said to myself, "well, if he did it, so can I!"

That actually turned out to be a three foot deep 'pond' in the middle of the desert. Oops. Had I been more observant, I would have noticed that the rider ahead of me was too clean to have just gone through a mud slick...

Once I pulled myself (and my bike) out the other side, I noticed a little used (but very dry) path to the left...

For better or worse, I wasn't riding my new bike, it's waiting for replacement parts after the last ride so I was on my old '95 Stumpjumper instead.

Oh yes, these are the drips from the bike as I rolled it through the house. Water in the frame...
