Edinburgh New Town window view

Today I have been writing, talking, cooking and eating (and I should have also been packing, but haven't quite got round to that yet).

Just after lunch Mr hazelh and I visited our friend L in her new (to her) top floor New Town flat. The views from her windows are fabulous (and also fascinating to me as a cellar dweller).

We quickly switched from guests to hosts at 4pm when Mandy, her mother Audrey, and her daughter Ellen came round to our house for afternoon tea. They were on a day trip to Edinburgh to help Ellen decide whether or not she would like to take up an undergraduate place at the University of Edinburgh. We told her that she should.
