The Uncle's 80th
My dad is one of 8 (the surving oldest) and it was his brother, Johnny's, 80th birthday. A get together was arranged at The Riflemans Pub, Blaenavon, which has a reputation for good food.
Mrs BB and I are uder the weather with colds and didn't really feel like going for afternoon cooked dinner (we don't do lunch anyway) but you have to make the effort with family get-togethers. John is a retired Police Sergeant from the Met Police who moved to Blaenavon about 25 years ago to own and run a couple of pubs/restaurants there. He isn't in the best of health and has had two failed kidney transplants so needs dialysis three times a week. A couple of years ago he was seriously ill in hospital and it looked like he wouldn't survive - so it was great that he made his 80th today.
Near 5pm I went outside for a breather and saw these dramatic clouds over the mountain so took a few photo's and the blip one I like best.
Of course I took a pile of family photo's but as we're at a family New Years Eve party tomorrow night near Bath, I'll leave a family photo until then! Have a good time and best wishes for 2017.
