Empty nest

A quiet day today. The children and I ventured to the supermarket to stock up on some new year goodies. It was so busy! I just grabbed whatever I could find and quickly made our way out! I was stressed and not helped by my silly idea of the children each having a grocery store scavenger hunt to do. P was really into doing hers but A wasn't the least bit interested. After about 15 mins he then told me he lost his pencil (one from P's new art set!) Argh! We had to retrace our steps up and down the aisles but couldn't find it anywhere. So on top of everything I had A whinging about wanting his pencil and P crying that he had lost it and it was her new one. I was glad to get home.

This evening has been much better. We met with friends at frankie and bennys for tea. We had a lovely meal and then went back to their house afterwards. P is having a sleepover there tonight and was getting into her pj's when we left. The girls had organised all their teddies and had decided that were both going to sleep on the double mattress on the floor. I hope she has a great time and doesn't stay up chatting to late!
