Crispin Hellion Glover

A wonderful and thought-provoking evening with maverick filmmaker Crispin Hellion Glover at Oslo's Cinemateket. He performed his Big Slide Show and screened the film "What Is It?", the first of a trilogy that is his reaction against the corporate straitjacketing of ideas in Hollywood. The film uses mostly actors with Down's Syndrome and breaks all sorts of taboos - sometimes gratuitously, sometimes very affectingly.
Having seen it, I now firmly believe that his infamous appearance on Letterman was wholly intentional.
And while it's a shame he doesn't make more music videos like this one for the Michael Jackson song Ben, it's interesting to watch him follow his muse (in between taking roles in Hollywood films to pay for his own work).
