At the End of the Day
You can sit on the beach in Rio and buy anything from a freshly made cocktail to grilled prawns, from suntan cream to your white outfit to wear on new year's eve. The beach boys, like the one here, work endlessly to rent out chairs, beds and sunshades. They start a tab with your name when you arrive and you pay when you leave. They move things in and out of the sun as desired. They also look after those on their patch by selling drinks, which are added to your tab. At the end of the day they pack everything onto trolleys and pull them up the steep hills to the favelas where they're stored till the next morning, and then it starts all over again. The lucky ones load their things into a van and drive them up the hill. Most arent lucky. We aren't big beach people, but sometimes enjoy an hour at the very end of the day in the shade and enjoy the atmosphere.
