Hogmanay 2016

When I was born it was a truly rich man who could have tropical orchids growing in his house. Now the country is awash with them - some things do change for the better! And tonight we are to be given an extra second of life; how wonderful is that?

The exotic flowers remind me of Hogmanay 1970 which we spent in the tiny village of Rukuruku on Ovalau Island in the Fijis. The "extra" shows the excitement mounting as we approached 1971!
