Old windmill

This red brick tower windmill, three storeys high, was built about 1785. It had a boat cap, two pairs of stones, an upright shaft and machinery.
The old name for the mill was Bouncing Bess.
Some other noteworthy dates
Sails were struck by lighting in June 1888
Worked by steam till 1916
Used as a prisoner of war dormitory during 1914-18 Great War.
Became a grade 11 listed building on 11th April 1967.
Converted to a residence in 1978
This was passed on my walk today, I covered 3 miles, nice when you pass landmarks on the way.
