I haven't been far or done anything different for a while so I decided to go and watch the annual spectacle that is the Maldon Little Ship Club Row And Gig Race held on the River Blackwater. I went as much for a chance to drive the S and listen to the Catfish and The Bottlemen album that my daughter gave me for Christmas as anything else.

I had a nice drive and enjoyed being by the river. As well the rowers I photographed a pair of avocets and other waders. It was lovely to see all the different types of craft and rowing techniques. A beautiful steam launch called Sea Otter and a lifeboat accompanied the flotilla.
