Sleeping it Off
Well it was only 6.30am and it is New Year's Day. Those revellers at the lake last night must have kept those ducks awake until the wee small hours. I came across a whole family of them dozing in the grass, heads tucked back, but keeping an eye on me. It was a gorgeous find. These are Pacific Black Ducks - nothing special, relatively speaking, but I find their eye markings and the jade flash of colour on their outspread wings quite beautiful. The family is in the first of my new bunch of extras.
I know most of you are still celebrating over there while we have woken to the first day of a brand spanking new year. It feels good.;o))
