Singing in the New Year

Well here we are, the start of another year in Blips. I've decided to go back full time on the shot a day (I'm not calling it a resolution) and although I was thinking of a year of black and white images, living amongst the greens of the bush has changed my mind. I just can't imagine a year in monochrome after all.

Today's subject is a rare visitor to these parts; this Tui has been hanging around the house for the last few days, and he's been very difficult to capture with the camera. This afternoon I got lucky though with my XF50-140 f/2.8 lens and 2x teleconverter. I wish it was a bit sharper, but there you go. At least I caught him on camera...
