Late afternoon ocean shine
PC problems again took me down. Just published my last entry of the year and am filling in the others. Have a refurbished laptop that I hope will last for a long while.
Excitement today was watching President Obama's motorcade pass by Sandy Beach just after I had driven in. He and his family are vacationing here, as he has been doing the last couple of years. Where he goes is reported on the news after he's done it. Passing Hanauma Bay, I had noticed a lighted police car at the entrance and a few people standing about. Unusual as the bay is closed on Tuesdays. Watching in my rear view mirror, I noticed the car moving and someone climbing out of the back seat, who moved into traffic with his arms waving, stopping the oncoming cars. I was then over the hill, but at the next lookout, saw another lighted police car pointed out and heard a whoop. There was a guy right on my tail, so I continued on the coast road, passing police cars at each pullout. As I came into Sandy Beach, there was a lighted cop car facing out and plain clothes men about. The oncoming cars had already been stopped and were backed up down the road quite a ways. I parked and just watched. Cop cars came down the road and whooped, handing off to the next one, who pulled out and raced down the road. Soon we saw the presidential cavalcade with large black SUVs and caught a glimpse of Obama inside one. His entourage was about 40 cars long - and included an ambulance! Didn't think you needed a foto of cars, so took these others which I think are much more interesting.
