The New Years Party

This picture was taken of our town square just as the main band of the evening had just started to play. Honey Fungus are popular in Pembrokeshire and with in minutes the Square began to fill and it became sardine country. 
My day started at 10-00 and finished at 3-30 . The security fencing that was surrounding the stage had been damaged overnight and I had to report this to the police. This was  the only incident of any description  over the entire New Year. The sound team arrived at 12--00 and all the sound checks were complete by 5-00. The security briefing took place at 7-30 and the roads were closed at 7-45. Three bands then entertained the crowd until midnight when our piper played in the new year follow by a fantastic fireworks display which last a full 10 minutes. The music finished at 1-00 and we reopened the roads at 2-00 in the pouring rain.That had held off until after mid night but we got home cold and very wet at 3-00. 
This was the best New Years  Party for some years but who will organise next years is the question as I can no longer stick the burn the candle at both ends.
