New Year, new beginnings.

A dull start to 2017 but I took a look around the garden to see if any bulbs are showing.

I could see the beginnings of one or two but was amazed to see how much of this Hamamelis was in flower. I have taken pictures of it in January with the buds showing a hint of colour but never this far out.

I took this shot a little later when the day had brightened up. This is Hamamelis Magic Fire and I think you can see why! The yellow one alongside it had only a couple of buds showing yellow so that's something to look forward to in the coming weeks.

The best thing about new year is the prospect of new growth leading us to Spring. Oh and you get 100 extras on blipfoto to start all over again too!

The other good thing about the 1st of January for us is it is a very good friend's birthday. (R, Mr Corinthian Column) we shall be seeing him shortly in the pub!
