Blow away the cobwebs
Up early to pack and get sorted, then set off north. Straightforward drive although wet and windy a lot of the way, and arrived n Scarborough about lunchtime. S and I went for a long walk along south beach, round the castle (Anne Bronte's grave nearby-she'd died after arriving here from Haworth to try and recover from TB) and saw north beach (this photo). Very windy and pretty cold, but impressive bays and waves.
Walked around the town a bit looking at the old fashioned shops-buckets and spades, sweets, joke shops etc then had a traditional fish and chip supper with tea and bread and butter.
Drove up to Whitby and settled into the guesthouse, then picked up some wine and nibbles for the evening. Wine turned out to be a bit disgusting but after 12,500 steps today it was enough just to be relaxing and watching Sherlock!
