Diana arrives
Diana has arrived and is lovely. She is of course anxious about the future, uncertain, worried. But we’ve established a connection of mutual trust and a commitment to find her community: millennial transgender people who are creating lives that work for them. I drove her out into the country to collect her belongings from someone who was holding them for her, and as we were driving back I told her I had to stop for a photograph. This one. Then we did some grocery shopping. She needs to talk and be seen and heard. I’m holding her story for her because I can. Tomorrow we will work on finding her community.
