New Year Cheese

I absolutely love Christmas, but New Year... Well, moving on:

When F was studying fine art in Cornwall, we "discovered" Cornish Yarg cheese. Delicious, creamy and with a lovely sharp tang. They form the cheese and cover it with nettle leaves in the dairy. I'd even venture to say we like it as much as Wensleydale. There, I've said it.

Anyway, after I'd been frolicking on the beach and pulling faces at the traffic on the city by-pass, I rode back into town to the market. Unfortunately, the cheese counter was closed and the stall-holder was cleaning everything for the holiday break.

However, he took pity and sold me this massive lump for very little money. Great thing is, we're off to Manchester for a few days (grand-daughter M's fourth birthday...) and we can take a lump of the Yarg - they don't really have any nice cheese in Lancashire or Cheshire. ;)

And all because the Cheese-man had washed his chopper and put it away for the New Year break...
