Suspended
This is one of the Japanese anemone from our garden. I photographed it against a black background and then darkened the image so the stem is (almost) invisible. It is supposed to look suspended in the air.
These plants are supposed to thrive best in shady areas and under protection of larger plants, and in all but the hottest and the driest conditions. They are especially sensitive to drought or overwatering. So ours do best in a hot dry bed and a shady wet part of the garden; obviously they can't read.
Rain has set in for the start of the long weekend (sorry to you folks north of the border who don't get Monday off and anyone else who has to work). Still a Motown playlist on the iPod driving home helped me forget the rain and the traffic. All I need now is a beer sorted!
