Edward got a new hat

Evening all.

Edward got a new hat. I say new. It's about 70 years old but it's new to Edward & that's all that matters.

It's Grandad's old hat. Regulars will know my Grandad was a legend to me & the spark to my book, On Ashover Hill.

After the war he became a draughtsman, then a joiner & a mighty fine joiner at that! We have some of his pieces in our house.

Soon the joinery business became tilted in favour of the one piece of joinery work that was bound to make cash & hence Eric Keith King became a funeral undertaker by default.

An hilarious man.

This is his hat, though Edward clearly now has claims.....
