Byland Abbey

We picked our walk well from a timing point of view. We managed to walk between a couple of heavy showers, so technically didn't get wet. 

Technically, as I managed to get very wet feet minutes into the walk by walking through the middle of a soggy bog in a field. The water went right over the tops of my boots - not a good start to a walk.

We started at Byland Abbey and headed up through some woods towards Mount Snever Observatory  (now disused) and back again.
