Sound Map
Went on a cold and beautiful walk today to try out an idea from a Keri Smith book I had been inspired by; 'sound mapping'.
I found an isolated frozen pond, and sat and listened to the wind traveling through the bulrushes, far-off voices, constant birdsong, stranger's feet shuffling.
Although the camera came along for posterity, I sat with my journal and a pen, recording and 'mapping out' everything I could hear; the direction each sound came from, the proximity to where I sat.
It was wonderfully peaceful.
(Perhaps when I've re-sharpened my rusty drawing skills I'll share a sound map or two.)
