If you go down to Clash Woods

You'll be surprised at the amount of different lichen on the trees . So many different types , I liked this which could be Witch's Hair Lichen. It has been used as 'false hair for decorating dance masks' in the past and does remind me of a beard, it was very soft to touch.
The weather was nt too bad today but the ground was muddyin some places so a walk in the woods seemed a good option. It was dry and sheltered and we enjoyed a stroll through the trees listening to the birds and cows mooing from the nearby field.
We have nt actually been here since 2010 when we had an amazing Winter walk. All the trees had been covered in ice particles that fell from the pine needles when you gently tapped the trunk.A fantastic sound. Everywhere had been totally white with the temperature dropping to -13.
That was a Winter to remember :)
