At the Museum.
China - Day 16
A day to wander around on our own. We decided to see if we could work out how to use the underground. Finding our local station turned out to be the hardest bit, but we did get there eventually. Buying tickets and getting on the right trains was a breeze.
We emerged in Tiananmen Square, where we had been a couple of days before, and recognised nothing. So vast it is. Luckily a young woman overheard our deliberations and gave us directions.
The National Museum of China was amazing - as you'd expect from such a rich culture. We didn't attempt to see everything. I got intrigued by the room that had these little statues, grave goods from a thousand or so years ago. There's a camel with attitude!
And they do a good cup of tea.
