Pastel of Fairy Glen...
...Betws-y-Coed, North Wales...but not like you have ever seen it before.
It started out being a realistic pastel of the Fairy Glen, but something happened along the way...the rocks turned into faces...this was not consciously done, and when I realised what was happening it surprised me.
The face in the middle at the back is John, complete with his beard. This was a surprise. But he was familiar with the Fairy Glen. He spent a huge chunk of his childhood on a remote farm with his cousins in Eglwysbach, Conwy. And rode everywhere on bicycle, even all the way to Liverpool.
This is a special pastel painting to me and I am going to frame it.
