Dry-stane dyking
Came upon this section of wall in the middle of rebuilding this afternoon. I think it was hit by a vehicle some time last year; it's been a tad tumbledown since then. All the fallen stones have been sorted and lined up, along with others removed to give a level start. The extra photo shows how the dyker is using a horizontal marker to keep the courses on course, as it were.
Knockdow Estate, on the Ardyne burn. The road runs across to the beginning of Loch Striven, and is a great place to walk on a winter's afternoon with the sun declining over Bute.
