Shadows on Snow

Late sun shining through the deck railing.

I've been bringing the hummingbird feeder in at night to stop it from freezing. When I took it out this morning, one of the hummers was hovering in front of me as I was hanging it. I'm surprised that the tiny creatures can survive in the extreme cold we've been experiencing.
