Now I am hardly expert on this sort of thing but I think this is someone practicing his sculling on the Nepean River today. In fact this was one of at least a dozen shells (of various sizes) gracefully gliding up and down the waterway. There were also people getting around in power boats with megaphones. I got the impression that it was all part of an official training day for the local rowing club. I sat by the river, idly taking pictures. The task itself can hardly be easy but I DO find it all very pleasant to watch.
