January Thaw 2017

The once tall 7 ft. ornamental grasses look like orange dwarfs hunkered down on the melting snow. Lovely that the Red Oak holds its colour well into spring. Nearly all the first snow is gone now.
The extra blips show the view across the road to my neighbours green lawn... The grass stays green all year no matter how deep the snow cover. Probably the nasty little voles are over there right now cavorting.
Each winter we have a major melting of snow: the Week of the the Thaw. Alas, the January Thaw arrives so early some years that once it is over we face snow cover feet deep for months.
The other extra "thaw blip" is of the ramp at the front of my house.

That's it for the thaw '17'.
And... Plumbers are down in the basement installing the new boiler and hot water heater... oh, very happy New Year...
