Excavation...
although a small one. This 3 inch pipe carries rainwater from a roof gutter to the street. It became clogged in tuesdays heavy rain and caused a small four foot high geyser on our front patio.
Today after moving the major rocks and shoveling away some of the gravel the opening was revealed along with the offending material that had created the clog. Then the downspout was tested with a garden hose and proved to be clear.
Next step will be to install a cleanout box that is easily accessed when future debris accumulates from down the gutter. I might even add a screen to the entry of the downspout.
Not an exciting photo, but you can be assured that the geyser was truly an excitement.
