Faecal abstraction

An aluminium bowl has been left below the corrugated tin roof of our old farm buildings where it has collected rainwater. Only today did I notice that it has also acquired a fringe of tiny bird droppings.  The sparrows that gather in the tangled willow nearby must be glad to have a source of water where they can perch and drink.
