Active ingredient

Back blipping I'm afraid.

Through in Leeds last night with the whole family catching up with my wee brother and eating curry. We didn't get home till late and I was far too tired to blip.

My bro's new band White Heat have just released their debut 7'' single and if you live in the Leeds area you should try and see them and/ or pop down to Jumbo Records and buy a copy.

It sounds great to me though I'm not much of a music buff these days and don't really have the words to describe it. Rough Trade describe it thus:

"stamped labels, colour sleeves. bolting out of leeds, on 'smiles' white heat combine a suppressed misery guitar aesthetic, think swedish melancholy or prime californian wipers-downerism, with a sweet female vocal which takes it somewhere else entirely, into a burning field of doomed romance. b-side 'hymns' ups the downer drugs while slowing the pace, taking in a dose of spacious guitar, reverb and slowdive-ish shoegazerism"
