"She Is Gone (He Is Gone)
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
David Harkins"
I hope somebody can refresh my memory.
Cremation "tomorrow". LA & Him came up today from "The deep South", so of course I couldn't expect them to stay in an Hotel overnight (Even if that was their intent, so as not to bother me) LA had suggested on the phone that we order in a Chinese meal, so I went a step further & suggested we may as well "sit in" at the place we would have ordered from anyway.
What I'd like my memory refreshed about is how this poem (REMOVED to comply with © LAW) came to be in my clutches?
I cannot, if my life depended upon it, remember if it was given, posted, or downloaded. Or the source thereof.
I note it's about 35 yrs old, it appears to have originated "locally" (A mere 9 mls from where I grew up, and in the area my Grandmother lived.)
It brought to mind something a Blood donor nurse said to me once, years ago, reference the fact I could no longer run.
"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened."
BLOODY HARD WORK at times I can tell you.
In retrospect, I must have removed photo of poem & just copied it, using the "extra" as main..
I had intended to include a shot of the "After Dinner Mints" as supplied in Chinese Restaurant but have discovered that "extras" with backblips (NO NOT "Backflips") detract from "this year's" extras.
