Male Green Woodpecker

The difference between a female and male Green Woodpecker is subtle - the male has a lot of red in the black stripe under the eye, the female's stripe is all black.

It is due to become a tad warmer tomorrow, just for a few days. I'm quite relieved, my fingertips are still quite numb after spending a few mornings  in the park in sub zero temperatures.
