Flotsam

The back end of Hendon, a district of Sunderland, very run down, high unemployment, hit by the disappearance of the coal industry, the ship building and steel. I passed by to have a look at my old house - I went to Art school in Sunderland in the late 70's, and bought an old miner's one story terrace cottage for £2500. Outside loo, only one cold tap in the house... old coal fired range. I loved it, but if anything, the area seems even more run down than when I lived there.
