God bless the NHS

My relatively young friend has been hospitalised and desperately needs a replacement knee. Yes this is a photo of her knee, with rather a lot of swelling. The surgeon won't touch it for at least 2 months, she has to try and get it back to the mobility it was before it completely locked one morning this week. She lives alone so the NHS won't release her until she is safe on crutches and when some appliances have been installed in her house. Tomorrow I am going to the mobility shop to collect said appliances including a toilet frame - I'm looking forward too carrying that through town!!
