Quivering Quail

When the day starts out at a record 20 below zero, The animals require a lot more food to keep warm. I'm tossing several helpings a day to the birds, one wounded deer (lower leg injury) and whomever else wanders by.
Lonesome George still comes by at least 4 times a day to fuel himself. He's now joining the other quail couples. I'm glad for that.
We're supposed to warm up starting Sunday and climb to +40 degrees. Fickle winter weather, that!
