Aberdour
One of my unofficial New Years resolutions - born out of despair at how little time off the OH has (shift working has its perks) - is to make more of weekends. So although the first Saturday of the year was a pretty dreich one, we took a drive over the water to Aberdour. Had a look around the castle with my resident history geek, a coffee and a cake at a nice wee cafe (Mctaggarts cafe/deli - I recommend it!) and then we walked along a section of the Fife coastal path to Burntisland. It was nice, although I imagine there are nicer stretches, and it wouldn't be on my list of long distance walks to do, but it was pleasant all the same. Good for a bit of seabird spotting (see extra). We got the train back to Aberdour, which I guess was a good option to have. Would definitely do some other/longer sections, but would probably do the bits in the east neuk.
