# 1,000!

Dear Diary,

Today is my 1,000th post!  It seems a bit incomprehensible that I have posted an entry for 1000 continuous days but there it is.  Still, there are so many others who have been doing this much longer than I and I am in awe of their fortitude.  I hope I can continue to soldier on as well.

Perhaps I should have chosen a more significant image for today but this is what's occupying me at the moment so this is it.  I have been a collector of quotes nearly all my adult life.  I have, for some time, wanted to start a Commonplace Book, last week I did; this is one page of it.  But, being the art teacher I am, I couldn't just write them down neatly in a little notebook, as my grandmother did.  I am having a great deal of fun doodling and coloring them as well.  I must admit, it is the most relaxing of pastimes.  Emerson hops up on the table and sits with me as I do it, offering a helpful paw from time to time.  He seems to like the coloring bit!

I have always loved coloring and I know that now they have adult coloring books but this will do for me.  I am doing them on 8.5X11 white cover stock and I will use my comb binder to put them in book form when I have enough pages.  I just use fine line markers and colored pencils so no fancy materials or excessive time involved.  I use to have my students do art journaling but that is a lot of effort and I wanted this to be just easy fun and it certainly is.  No special skills or material required...just write and color!
