Illusions

Slept well. After breakfast, soft boiled eggs, kaya toast and bao we went for a swim in the concrete rooftop pool. Then to a place which is full of optical illusion paintings for photos to be taken. It was fun.

Very hot in Ipoh today, and sunny. Lunch at another quirky place, Western food and then a tour of the tinminers' meeting house, all about the history of tinmining in Perak. Fascinating.

After that it was off to a couple of temples in limestone caves. The first was amazing with beautiful gardens at the rear and a view of a working tin dredger. I also managed to pick up a piece of discarded Ipoh marble. And there were loads of fish for Libby and birds and monkeys. The second one wasn't so amazing but there was a full length reclining gold Buddha.

G drove the 120 miles home and we arrived as it was getting dark. Now waiting for pizza!
