Bouquetin, King of the Herd

He was on his own today, relaxing against a sunlit rock quite close to the ski pistes. I guess he has done his job for the continuation of his herd as the rut is over now. Last winter, there were 3 mature males on this side of the mountain, for the whole of the winter. The females tend not to venture onto the "public" side of the mountain, too wary, looking after last year's young and eating to feed the future babies.
