Managing the earth

I'd love to be able to show an image of a badger but we rarely see them and then only as scurrying two-tone shadows in the headlights. But their rootling, their paths and dungpits  betray their presence among us. I went to check the setts and saw they have been making good their living quarters in readiness for the breeding season.
The Northern Irish poet Michael Longley can be heard reciting his observant, and poignant, poem 'Badger' here. I can't help thinking he looks remarkably like a badger himself.
