The world's first rotating boat lift, joining the Union with the Forth & Clyde canals just a few miles down the road from us, and in over three years of blipping this is the first time I've posted a shot of it. Not sure how that happened as it's very photogenic as well as being an impressive bit of design and engineering.
Another one ticked off.
Euan and I cycled up here, from the sea lock a few miles back along the Union Canal. I'd told him it was going to be really flat in order to get him off his beam end and tag along, stating the fact that as we were going alongside a canal it couldn't possibly be anything else but flat. Ok, there's a fair few locks along the route to get around the issue that their is a wee bit of a climb at points, but that only made for a super speedy return trip. Which was just as well, because the heavens opened big time and we sprinted the last mile back to the car ever so slightly drookit.
Going off to a barbecue tonight. Taking meat, beer and umbrellas.
