Ashton Canal junction to Old Stockport Canal

A hidden history on our doorstep. Travelling along the old canals to Manchester adds an extra 10 minutes to my journey, but I get to see a whole lot of history.

Recently, this basin had been renovated with seating and landscaping, but it's all looking rather neglected these days. 

I've resolved to take an hour for lunch to escape the monitor. I'll either walk or in this case cycle somewhere, have lunch and take some photos.

Note to self: wear non-reactor like glasses so can see the b&w image in the camera LED.
