Statue

This is a statue outside the maternity hospital of traditional villagers. I was called to take a lady into hospital who was in labour but had 4 previous c-secs meaning she couldn't have this one naturally. The baby is a bit too early but the mother looked very unwell. Her family had been living under I*S for the past 2.5 years. It was humbling being with these women. She certainly couldn't go to Mos for the baby so it got all a bit complicated trying to get her out and find a doctor.

It's been such a sad couple of days with the news ydy of the death of a wonderful man from church and college. I visited a friend ydy afternoon who has just been bereaved though and the contrast of grieving with hope was profound and comforting.
