Winter Nightmares!!

Walking to the Post Office this morning, I passed this sculpture, carved from the trunk of an old tree. Even though he’s still wearing his jolly Christmas hat (aka a traffic cone!), on such a dark, dismal Winter's day he needed a bit of fancy treatment to jazz him up a bit!

Many moons ago, I used to visit this house as a school friend lived here. I remember well the beautiful tree that used to grow in the front garden.  If I lived next door now, and had to look out on this every day, I think I’d be having Winter nightmares!!
