Tensile Strength

Tonight Cub Scouts learned the difference between truss bridges and tensile bridges, built both types, and tested their strength. This one collapsed after 4th brick was added to the bucket hanging from it; the truss one took only two bricks, but the problem there was inadequate cross bracing, which allowed for torque.

The kids had a blast, and I assure you, so did the adults.
