San Lorenzo River Mouth

It's high tide and the river's running wild. Lots of heavy debris washed up on the sand. There is usually a much wider beach in front of the amusement park, and the river occupies a narrower channel. I haven't heard of any bad flooding in town, but mudslides, downed trees and fallen power lines are another story. Highway 17, the main route out of here to the north, has been blocked all day. Highway 1 north was blocked for a time, close to San Francisco. One of the two southern routes has been closed. That doesn't leave much if you have to leave town. Commuters have had a rough time today. Even the short cuts were jammed. People who could stay home hunkered down.
