From Now On...

Standen....

...the home of the Beale family, designed and built by Philip Webb, a very close friend of William Morris. It is a beautiful reflection of his love of fine craftsmanship and materials.

James and Margaret Beale lived here from 1894 until 1901 with their seven children . As the children married and moved away, this beautiful home became the focal point for many family summer holidays and Christmas celebrations. The two unmarried daughters lived in the house and when they both died, the home was given to the National Trust.

I could move in immediately!

There was an amazing exhibition by American-born artist, Kaffe Fasset. My extras show some of his work and some information about him. SO gifted!

A back blip..
